Hey what a coincident, this morning on Morning Live, they had the chief of something from Eskom on, and he explained that this year was the year with the highest potential for load shedding. Anyway, the reason why a possible load shedding will take place is, according to Eskom, they need to do large maintenance work on power stations, so that they can be working at full strength in this coming winter.

The talk carried on for a while, and they mentioned something to the effect of “ we are asking the public to try and save +-10% of our normal electricity usage, this will ensure that load shedding will not take place during the maintenance period” ( note: I was busy getting ready for work, might have missed something!)

I should try to get a hold of a friend on another forum, he works for Koeberg, since he normally warns us when they do maintenance.

Ironically enough I got the pdf from @Henk Hugo and another friend emailed me a map with the times of the load shedding, as well as the same pdf Valenski is talking about - they are giving us conflicting times again. So its going to be a case of wait and see when we get hit.

I don't want to hear anything about load shedding. Bronkhorstspruit was without electricty for more that 50hours From Sunday untill yesterday and I think that we are in credits with "EKS-DOM". They are very quick to hike up the rates but the main "chappy" got an increase this year of 119%. All that while Bad Robert, our Northern neighbour, gets electricity from "EKS-DOM" for like a thrid of the price we are paying.

Sorry for getting a little carried away.

    Hehehe @Lappies, no worries.

I can still live with load shedding. One of my friends live in the Kimberly area and they are going on day 3 without water since all 5 the pumps at the pumping station broke down. Its 40 degrees there . . .

Yeah @Wyvren, that's bad. No water. I don't think I'll be driving through that twon soon, because nobody bathed for three days. At least they have electricity to run their tanks. Just hope that he did a water change just before the water pumps broke down.
