Yes I got the spiderwood from RBM aquatics which allowed me to unpack all of their wood pieces in order to find the perfect pieces for my tank!
Tank size is 300L and the sump that is attached to the side is around about 50ish litres or so...i am yet to actually measure it.

I will start my fish off with getting a range of Tetras and then some sterbai Cory's. I also really want some glass cats but they will come a bit later and eventually I will try and get some discus in there!!

I was super clumsy with them at first but now that I'm used to them they work like a bomb! Barely disturbs my capping layer and I can get the roots down nicely

A bit of glare on the tank but the water is a bit murky from new filter media, I did rinse it and everything but it still had some murk to give off:( but I got 3 cardinal tetras in the tank now and I impulse bought 2 beautiful angel fish! Coz who doesn't like a pretty angel fish:):tt2:15715751840267531561032637209504.jpg

So my one cardinal died yesterday because it got sucked into my sump and squished by my metala mat and now another got sucked in...basically sump needs safety precautions taken. I was gonna ask what should I do with my tetra when it's stunned because it keeps swimming back into the sump but no my angel fish hit it and it died:(:(:(

Eish man. Try and get some mesh (rubber carpet mesh comes to mind) and cover those overflows

If a fish is injured and needs to recover place it in a net or breeding box. Most other fish especially cichlids will peck at them while they are trying to recover usually killing them.

I do need more plant cover though for my tetras though. I am wanting to put some more amazon swords in at the back so that my angel fish and, hopefully one day, discus can't go and pick on the small fish in the tank. Especially if they do get a bit stunned they'll have a place to hide and recover

Yeah, I'm just worried about the lose leaves every now and then getting stuck and slowing the sump but I will try something like that

Is there a specific aesthetic/style that you’re aiming for? Think you’ll need some big & tall plants in your tank eg aponogeton crispus (fast grower), vallis (fast grower), big swords (slower) to provide hiding spots

I don't particularly like vallis, I'm just not a fan of it...i very much like the swords even though they are a slow grower (learnt that now:tt2: thanks)... I will look up that aponogeton crispus now. Also they will need to survive 30°
