Hi all it has been ages since posting here so thought no time is better than the present.

Had a bit of an itch that needed scratching and decided that whilst hiding the big boy for the time being I should maybe do something smaller that is welcome for critique.

Not being my usual fair of african cichlids or planted aquaria was a must. With my wife doing the whole "I organised some free fish" thing I was intrigued and decided to go have a look.I went to the persons residence and was immediately hooked he had some convicts free to a good home. The brain went a churning.I took them home and housed them in a tank on their own(how else?) and started planning a setup of their own.Couple of months down the line we have this for now and they also got 2 new buddies in the form of a duo juvenile green terrors thankfully they get along well.

The tank itself was done dirt cheap free glass a diy lightfitting with 2x 10 watt LED floods a previously built sump with heater in there on account of these huys being known for breaking in tank kit, some extremely cheap garden gravel and playsand subs some river stone and rock and mopani that I have had for ages. Also did a green halfwrap in green vinyl well cause I thaught it would suit the whole river bank/small pool idea I had in mind.Pump is a HUGE thing with a 3500lph turnaround throttled to a trickle by inline taps and having been refurbished by yours truly, trickle being used very loosely here. All returns bulkheads etc came from the spares box.All in all this tank cost me about 200 bucks all in.

Tell me what you guys think.

    Regards:
    Sme

I agree @GaryG problem is that even the anubias is having a hard time with the convicts that is housed in there.

    Love it @Shrimp lover

Plants look awesome, no doubt there, but a river scape can also be made to look amazing

I guess after many attempts, i have had to accept the fact that i cant keep plants.. so i have looked at various ways of trying to make it look nice without plants and there are some stunning tanks without

Thanks @MariaS thing is I purposefully put the anubias in there to see if they can survive the convicts.
