hyt 'n gewone fitting gebruik, hierdie is een wat kom met reflectors ens, wil kyk of ek dit nie in 'n hood bo my 1.2 kan inbou nie, hulle het vandag een by die hospitaal uitgehaal

HEEHEE Carl.. have you been sitting staring at the lights in your ceiling?

It should work as long as you have the right globes in their to stimulate photosynthesis in the tank!

Zoom a while ago somebody on the forum used the reflectors from one of these units, and since then ive been staring at the unit in my office and just waiting for it to go kaboom so that i can score it, but then yesterday afternoon my luck was in as one of these units in the hospital had a melt down, all the old oil ballasts and wiring melted, all that needs to be done is to replace the ballast with a modern electronic dual ballast and rewire and install tubes.

    im thinking of installing t5's

its just a little bit wider than my tank, its 1200x600 my tank is 1200x450

or i should get myself a new tank 1200x600x600......i think its time to talk to the missus

works like a charm just put propper globes in .I ran a setup like this for over a year with no problems just be sure to give plenty of space in between water and light unit I shocked my self badly once or thrice and only recently threw it away from rust issues(mine were lying on the tank to stop my aro from jumping)

It will work Carl, that is what I was looking for in the beginning when I did the tank because of the reflectors.... I think you must keep looking at the lights sop that maybe another one can blow so I can score it....lol
