For that price it will work in any aquarium.

I just installed a 6000K 7.2w strip in my 3ft tank (just for ambient light before I start the other 5x 39W T5's).

If you go the planted route, I know there are 6000K and 10000K LED's out there, its just a matter of finding a good price.

You get strip connectors, so you can cut the strip and join them again to stick it next to each other.

 

you want cool white not warm white for tropical tanks .. but cool price indeed.

I just looked at the cool white ones now to find the info relating to the mcd etc. that is a cool price and don't mind testing it if there is a chance that it may work.
I have a beefy 12v dc supply just need to check if the rectification is half wave or full wave else I think they may flicker.

Joh 5x39w on a 3ft tank? hope your going to run serious co2 and ferts on that tank

 

Is your tank going to planted when you add 5x39w T5's? That's a lot of light. #supernova
