Lighting reflector options for Wooden tank lid

Hi Guys let me know at you think: I have just come back from the Hardware store. I was looking for white perspex to place in the inside of my Wooden Tank lid to increase the reflectorbility of my lights.

My options are: White perspex -
1. Wood will rot behind the perspex. Silicon to paste it to lid
2. White vinyl - Wood will rot behind the vinyl. trick to stick down and keep down once the moisture gets behind it
3. Resin and hardener with a white pigment add (This seems cheaper, non toxic as it becomes inert, and a great protection for the wood. BUT Messy

What I did a couple of years back on my DIY canopy was paint and seal the interior and then to increase reflectiveness I smeared silicon all over, I think I uses paper toweling, but it still is a messy job. Then I put on a coat of tinfoil. Gives good reflection, it does fade over time, but it has been about 5 years now and I am only looking at redoing it now. ( I am considering sisalation, seeing as I have a roll lying around).

 

Could you not use a mirror? Or is that too harsh?

 

why not just paint hte inside with a silver paint.....

 

Because i am concerned about the toxicity of the paint and also i would like to preserve my tank lid. Any

 

You get a metal base coast that is silver. if you let it dr 100% there is no problem with it. i have used it a few times
