    Hi Hobbyists

We are strong in Marines, but the good thing is that we regularly get products that are great for your freshwater aquariums.

Our imported range of lighting units are an good example of this.
We landed Metal halides and T5 units that would ensure your plants get their lighting requirements.

    The MH are below
The T5's we landed are great, ask shihr (Richard) he are the proud owner of some.
We imported 3 different units this time around, they are all sturdily built with a flat reflector and include the T5 lights that are rated 10 000 kelvin.

    The units we imported are:
    2 x 24W T5 unit @ R550-00 each
    4 x 39W T5 unit @ R1400-00 each
    4-x-t5.jpg
    8 x 39W T% unit @ R2525-00 each
    8-x-t5.jpg

The MH units can be adjusted on 5 points to maximize your capability to adjust it to your needs.
    PLUS
All the MH units have a built in fan to help cooling
    AND
the 70w + 150w units come with night lights (blue LEDs)

    Gerhard 24w would be for a 2ft..

A 5ft would be bit of a funny dimension.. I'd use 2 3ft fixtures or 2 2ft fixtures.. Ur always going to be bit out or bit small..

ok i have two odyssey units the one over my 1metre is 39wat perfect size and light penetrates to either end. the 54watt would be for the 1.2/3foot if you get the 39watt for a 1.2 iv tried this did not work unless you suspended it to give the light more travel on either side but then you loose intensity and need multiple units so i settled for the 54watt t5HO and the difference was night and day. hope this helps

There's actually a new train of thought when it comes to lighting. Something for you to think about @oscar freak. It was actually @Altum who taught me this.

When you build your hood and plan your lighting, plan it to be flexible. Meaning instead of using a 900mm tube, get 2 x 450mmm tubes, or 3 x 300mm tubes. Create the hood that you can move the tubes without too much effort... and thus when you plan your tank, you ONLY light where it's necessary. No point in lighting that open space of substrate, or hill of rocks it you not having plants there. If you have easy growing plants in a section, put lower lighting over there, and concentrate your higher output lighting in the areas where necessary. i thought Altum was insane... but when you look at some of the most amazing tanks of the world, they are lighting this way. Somehow a tank looks so much more natural and amazing when you have the plants highly lit, and the hardscape that doesn't need light isn't directly lit. It sounds stupid... but put some thought to it.

    Hi

We are expecting the shipment of lights next week according to customs

Only problem is the documentation do not show ant 24W units :worried:
Hope it is a admin glitch and it is in the container - otherwise I might be forced to :tomato: and I can not eat tomatoes :)

The MH option look like this with our 70W and 150W units
