Hey guys...So even though my Malawis is a year old , am looking at them in my 4ft tank & thinking I want something else...Jeez these guys are just too aggressive these days...I have 21 in my tank...one female died a month ago , there is another one on his ways out , well maybe two from the looks of it...They just change each other to much in the tank...Expecially my big yellow one... I the only one going through this phase now...??.what other fish is out there that doesn't turn on each other...I had oscars as well...Please change my mind to keeping them or help me maybe picking some other breeds of fish...

Yup, that's why i gave up Malawis.
    Couldn't stand the constant aggression.

    What to chose?
    Quite a few options.
Some relatively peacefull cichlids - Angels, Keyholes, Discus
    Rainbow fish.
    Medium sized Tetras.

    Endless options

What fish can I put in my tank setup as is...I have spent quite some money getting the PFS & Rocks & Canisters. ..I want to take out the malawi's & just put different ones in that can live with the same PH water level as the malawi's. ..not a big fan of small fish-so I want something that can grow 10cm max or so?? Any ideas?

Hi, I had a brackish tank that was quite successful it had a mix of Mono argentus , Archerfish, Spotted green Scat, butterfly fish and fire eel but they do not stay small or you could keep some angels and gourami's
Here is some pics, good luck

You are correct, my mistake the fire eel was a different tank. I had a fresh water moray eel with the scats and the archers.

I'm in the same boat as you neltf.
I had about 12 malawi's in my 4', which was nice, but it never really grew on me. The aggression isn't really the issue for me, its more about the fact that the fish that gets picked on, can't go anywhere to escape. Then when my favorite one died in my overflow filter I completely lost interest.
I'd love to keep something interesting again, but a 4' is to small for big fish and seems a waste for small fish...
The GF is nagging me to get Parrot cichlids... mmmm... but I'm not convinced. I'm actually thinking of trying a planted Angel and tetra tank...
    But ja. decisions decisions.
