Large tank - divided base

    Been browsing MASA and found this tank build page ...

    Firs time I've seen a base of a tank done in several sections and then just clued together on a frames brace. Makes sense - any body have a calculator to determine base thickness if you do this or do you just use the sections m3 water weight?

    I also noticed no polystyrene between the glass and frame - or is this because it was build on the frame?

    Also anybody know a supplier of this Starfire Glass (JHB) and cost?

    That is what is know as a MENEER of a tank. That just takes MTS to a whole new level. LOL.

    That's a great looking tank, but I'm still pretty confused about how it stays together.
    And I'm not convinced about the stand having 4 minscule contact points to the floor, that's going to put massive stress on the concrete!
