    Hi,

I am looking for large river rocks, i.e. about 300 mm in size.

Does anyone know where these can be bought?

@Wyvren, thanks going to see what they have. (I want to put some rocks in my tank, so that my fish can lay their eggs on the rock instead of on the drift wood).

I have found some nice rocks at Stodels and I tend to go through my mums garden as well as friends of the family for rocks :p Since you have to keep in mind it is illegal to pick up rocks at beaches and so forth.

The best is to pick up some nice rocks in a stream of some sort but it's illegal.

Why so big??? I went to a decor nusary and brought out flat smooth pebbles about 150mmx100mmx30mm
Clean it and put in tank, doenst take so much space and dosnt add presure to the glass.
think about to give that a try?
not that my fish has laid eggs but yeah we will never know.

@BBQ was thinking because the frame of my tank completely (whole surface area) supports the base of my tank that the force exerted by the large rock will not induce any bending stress on the base.

Thanks for the advice on the smooth pebbels, will have a look at them.

Nursery's get the rocks from suppliers who have licenses to extract the rocks legally.

    Guys,
please lets keep this thread in line. It is, as has been stated illegal to remove rock from the wild. Lets not have any more posts suggesting this, and also stop discussing doing it, please.

    Thank you

    Marco
