Hey guys. I have been posting a lot about Malawis lately but I haven't posted proper pics of my own tanks.

This is 1 of my existing tanks. It's a 2ft baby Malawi tank. They have grown a lot since the pic and now have to move into my 3ft.

There where convicts in there but once they nipped my beloved plecos, I removed all of them.

Thanks so much for the positive replies!

Those are not rocks but its a store bought ornament (tall, light gray). That piece was bought for my Jebo and is going back in there soon enough. The others where slate like rocks that I had in my garden.

I had to have the tank open because I used a wireless flash directed from above. You can see a bit of the white umbrella on the top right hand corner. :)

    Regards

    TM

Well, I didn't know that I have the clearest water around. I thought everyone here had crystal clear water? All my tanks do....:noworry:

It's the filtration rate. Flow rate in 1 hour must be 4 times the total volume of the water. I usually have the Resun cs-400 you see and an Elite Hush 10 Hang on filter running together but I needed that filter in my Discus grow out tank. I took the pic long after I have removed the HOB.

My tank is 50+L so my flow rate on my filter must be 4 times 50L that i.e. at least 400L/h. The surface are of the media is important as well. I have 2, very porous, nylon sponges and a small carbon sack in the filter.

If you are ever buying a filter, go with Resun.

    Regards
    TM

I was also going to comment on the clear water, then you said wireless flash...
It seems to do amazing things to the water clarity in your photos, and the tank looks huge!

I remember from when I was still looking into malawis the norm was 8x tank volume per hour for filtration rate. And overfiltration is a must because you overstock to prevent targeted agression. But there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with what you've got going there!

My water is really as clear as in the pic the flash didn't do much really. If I set the flash any higher, you would not see the tiny bubbles in the water. What you see is exactly what it is. You are most welcome to come to my home and see it :)

@Marco..... Oh well :) ...but are you serious?
