LADIES please dont confuse the men. Indicate somehow that you are ladies so that the men dont refere to you as DUDE, MAN, GRANDPA or what will your wife say....lol

i think you owe us this much....

Maybe we can have an indicator on our profile? But most ladies are often times harassed or treated differently once guys know we are ladies.

I think that anyone who has an issue with being confused with the opposite sex, should just choose a username that doesn't leave any question.

SterlingAce got it right to say she is a puffer princess. So now we know to adress her properly.

    On a lighter side.
On another Forum with one of my other hobbies, I used a name that was a character in a sci-fi movie.
An alien creature - but male.
Anyhow some bloke tried to hit on me, thinking I was a woman. I put him in his place pretty quick.
He was so embaressed he didn't come back online for months

Why? I understand if someone gets offended by being referred to as dude or whatever, in that case it's their fault if they didn't make it clear. But I don't feel I OWE anyone the knowledge of whether I'm a girl or a guy? Why is it important for you to know? And if that means you're going to treat me differently, why should I want to tell you? I don't have a problem with letting people know - I mean my avatar is a long-haired chick in a boat - but it just strikes me as odd that it's so important for you to know.
Again, if this is in response to some girl being offended that you didn't magically know she was a girl, that's a different thing altogether and I'm sorry if that happened.

In today's world it isn't so easy anymore....
    Guy today, girl tomorrow.
Now I am giving my age away, ...but then it is in my profile and I have no problem with it ....
I remember years ago I was watching TV and supporting and hoping Bruce Jenner would win the Olympic Gold Medal in Decathlon (which he did).
Today I would have to address 'him' as a lady ???
    Eish!!!! Life is becoming complicated.
At least I still remember what I am.

The girls will excuse us, after all we do get confused so easily:laugh:....and anyway I for one am happy that there are so many ladies out there who also like fishes, Judging by my lovely wife's reaction (shrug, shake of the head and "It's up to you- just don't expect me to feed those crickets to the mudskipper or clean those tanks!")to my ever increasing need for more tanks/fish, I always imagined that it was an affliction that only affected us men!

I am sure the ladies will put us in our place should we say the wrong thing, as we do.....sometimes:blushing:

To Quote my eldest (almost teenager) But MOM ......DUDE! I can't go out in THAT!

This is turned into an Interesting and amusing thread...
The guys request for ladies to make it known they are ladies... its understandable... I dont think they will treat you differently.. I think they feel embarrassed when they accidentaly call you Dude... Besides... respect is earned by honestly being who you are, while at the same time respecting others irrespective of whether you/they are male or female

The use of other names that are not your own name... I dont understand the reason behind it... maybe Im too old..haha also giving my age away here as @JCL said.. Why dont people use their first name? Its not like our personal details are visible to everyone so... how would that lead to harrassement? The only way is by someone harrassing you with private messages which would easily be sorted by reporting to the moderators?
Most of the times, harrassement only goes as far as we allow it.

To any ladies in the forum that dont want it to be known they ladies for fear of being treated differently... Girls.. Im a lady and proud to be one.
I dont want to have to hide the fact that I am a lady... I dont care if guys want to treat me differently.. their problem...
I know who I am and I know what my achievements in life have been in other hobbies where guys and girls compete, I also know my failures in life
I am proud of my achievements and have learnt from my failures.
Judge me by who I am and not what I am.... The only way to achieve this is to be honest with yourself and about yourself..
So... Ladies come out and let us know who you are and be proud of who you are!!
We all here to learn and share..
    As

I’m sure the only competition on this forum is what TASAis offering us. No need to compete and treat each other differently as there isso much to learn from each other when it comes to aquatics. Yes I did feel badwhen a lady was referred to as dude, obviously unknowingly from the member that’swhy I started this thread. :blushing:
