Hey guys. Trying to find small heaters in Cape town, most of the shops near me only stock 50-100W+

Anyone seen 20W or less anywhere? Trying to find one before winter starts.

    Maybe Sam's will have?

Lowest I have seen are rated at 25W.
The Dophin heaters are small enough to stand upright in the small 12 litre tanks I use to breed CPD.
If you don't find any in CT, you can always try Aqua Empire. They have small Sobo heaters at a good price, and should ship at your cost.

Same here. Never seen anything smaller than a 25w. And in terms of physical size they were always the same size as the 50w. I'm using the 50w in my 1foot tank.

Smallest I've found is 25w from perky pets in Diep River. Like @fishanatic said pretty much the same size as other 50w. I can't remember the brand (will check later) but I wouldn't recommend buying it, it lasted a few months before water got in somewhere and became very unreliable. It was also more expensive than a 50w. I use 50w on two of my nano setups, haven't had any problems.

Yeah. I use the 50w in my 15litre tank. In anything bigger it was quite useless.

Not sure if we are tanking about size or power consumption ... for both I have seen some 16 Watt fix temp units but at 25 degrees that is not what I was in the market for.

Got this one for the rescaped 2ft ... 1) because I have never used this type before 2) very small easy to hide behind the sponge filter.

No clue if it was money well spend.

I am rather pleased - small, easy temp dial so yeah by all accounts working as designed.

Have never tried the easyheater - but that ticks most of my boxes - esp all the way down to 17 degrees.

BTW nice explanation why your environment is important when you buy by wattage only.
