Labidochromis caeruleus (Yellow lab cichlid)

    Hi All,
    So I purchased 15 Yellow labs and when I put them in the tank under the light - I noticed blue coloration and also stripes through some of their bodies.
    Can Yellow labs contain blue color? The seller reckons the name "caeruleus" refers to blue so it must be like that... I doubt that.
    I assume that this is not pure strain L.caeruleus - is my assumption correct?

    Not pure Lab

    Your fish look a bit beat up.
    Malawis are aggressive and come from rocky habitats with lots of escape routes from dominant fish.
    Your tank probably needs some big piles of rock

    Many years ago blue labs was a thing, but I agree with Reedfish, probably not pure. Even me, I am struggling to get proper electricLabidochromis caeruleus
