    Spiky big ol' cat that

    Howdy Gavin

Those grow up and get all spiky rows along the sides.
    Impressive odontodes in both genders
I've been reminded a few BLOODY times.
NEVER the fishes' fault, OH NO!!!!

L114, have sometimes been sent out from exporters, as Leopard CACTUS plec for reasons above.

Pseudacanthicus leopardus MAY be what you have...
Does yours have the tan/beige caudal markings or the ORANGE, to SCARLET or RED markings?

A few have at times been called by same name... sometimes you score L025, a much more expensive pleco.

either way, it's a NICE BRUISER of a catfish...smaaks a bit more meatier chow than other similar sized Loricariids.

Can be aggro and territorial, from large juv size upwards.

Hmmmm, reminds me of my first Pseudacanthicus, around junior high days, THOSE things ripped my nets to shreds as I moved them from tank to tank to re-establish calm .... and/or drew blood

    Enjoy it pal!

    Regards
    Liaquat

I had two that used to fight, stand on their pelvic fins and then walk and headbutt each other into a corner. Then turn around and go suck some glass again.

It'll be very interesting to see how he turns out - so far he is very placid. All the research we did states that the L114 is agressive towards it's own kind or can be agressive towards other bottom feeders. In the tank where he is in that is not going to be a problem as he is the only bottom feeder there and I certainly will not add any other bottom feeders. This'll be a 'test' on how accurate information found on the net is. He's a beautiful fish though!!!! :)

Was just about to say the same thing.

Beautiful fish though, and I don't even like Pleco's.
