So I installed a DIY inline CO2 reactor with a Jager heater built into it.

I also installed an auxiliary cannister filter (Tetratec ex1200) to increase the flow in my tank.

And my timer system, and yes I know the times aren't synced. The air timer will turn on my air pump to aerate the aquarium while the lights are off, but I haven't connected it yet.

The mains switch is for the entire system and the other two switches are for each cannister filter and my heaters.

Gave the tank a haircut today and moved a bunch of plants around closer to their proper positions. Took out most of the plant that was mixed inbetween the Colorata and removed some Colorata to make space for the Macrandra. Acquired a tiger lotus, can you spot it??

Removed a lot of the Stargrass, moved it away from the glass and made the entire thing smaller to give more space on its left for my carpet. Ringed it with helferi from the right hand side of the tank. Where I now have a bigger area to cover in Staurogyne.

Planted the Balansae around the "trunk" of my spiderwood moved the Wendtii forward and the Reineckii. Trimmed the HM for tighter growth. Moved my Aromatica next to the Macrandra.

    Any Scape advice??

Thats about it I think! I updated my timeline on the first page so you guys can see where I am going!

Sounds interesting, how do you know that the heater is not on all the time?

    Why would it? If(WT<25C) on (else) off;

And there is a clear section of PVC pipe around the indicator light. And its a Jager.

    ah .. that makes sense.

Call it habit, I still want to see the light of the heater - yes I have had a jager boil a tank.

Got a 60x60x60, still deciding on the lights, LED or t5`s? @Theos but dam the LED is expensive...or the t5`s x 2 odysea unit perhaps?

Well I wouldnt go above 45 for height, you are going to struggle with light attenuation. Especially if you're going to grow carpets and light demanding plants.

Also remember for a cube you're gonna also have to contend with the distribution of your lighting.
In my 90x45x45 I have 2x dual Odysseas' and a Quad! The two duals were not giving me enough light and my plant growth was leggy.

What LEDs are you looking at? They can be tricky of you dont get the correct spectrum.

Thats allot of light....I have a dual odysea in my 1.2 x 60 x 40 and it seems to be doing the job, but if I dont trim some plants suffer....im still shopping around but saw an odysea LED unit yesterday for R3000 didnt check wattage and so on, but y=I agree with the distribution on lights with dual odysea esspecially, all centralised, should of beeen a wider unit and t5`s spreaded more even. Im looking @ carpeting plants, and less single stem, and off course moss with ada gravel. So perhaps some spread lights LED.

Just make sure its not a marine unit. I'd say check out an ATI unit for the cube. Maybe a metal halide would be more effective.

Yeah it is a lot of light but now my plants are doing a lot better. Getting some very nice reds. Some of my stems are even trying to creep!
