    Hi all.
Does anyone know where I can buy Krylon spray paints in Cape Town (or SA for that matter)?
They used to be available at Builders, but they do not stock that brand any more.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Kudo's to Khalid for asking, because I too am curious :D

I wonder if art shops would stock it.

Try Paintwarehouse (in Montague Gardens) and dala paints (dunno where they are though)

When I worked at Mica (6 years ago) in the paint dept... there were rumours going around that Krylon were going to be pulling out. Not sure how true this is, or if it has happened. I know Sprayon is the biggest supplier in SA at the moment.

For my new planted tank project, there are some white plastic pieces that I need to glue in the tank, and I want to 'hide' them a bit.
Krylon is still available in SA. Builders stocked it until a short while ago. According to one of their employees, Builders had a fall out with the supplier and have sent all Krylon stock back.
The reason I am specifically looking for Krylon Fusion, is that I have read on a few overseas forums that the paint is 'fish safe' once dry.

Darryn wont resin also do the job...?plus too you get pigment for the resin so you could pretty much colour it any colour you want...and resin does not leach once cured..i have used resin a couple of times when bonding plastic tubing in my sump on my marine setup and to date no flops...

Not too expensive Darryn..you get the resin and catalyst from most diy stores but and a BIG BUT...check out the mixing parameters as too much catalyst you got the stuff going hard too fast to work with..what i did was i got some dark fine gravel coated the plastic tubing with resin and when it started getting tacky i covered the plastic tubing in the substrate and left it to cure...make sure you have sufficient gravelunder it...once its cured you just pick it up brush off the loose soil and then leave it for 48 ours to cure before rinsing and using it..oh by the way it looks awesome coated that way..anywho goodluck let me know what you decide on doing cheeers

typing too fast lol reaaly bad spelling

    Really lol

If have toyed with the idea of covering the plastic with marine silicone and then rolling it in sand/gravel.
Thanks for the info. I will keep it in mind.

Only problem is unless the plastic is keyed mm scratched or lightly sanded ths silicon will eventually pull away from the smooth surface..shot
