Kribs second spawn

My Kribs spawed 5 week ago.....about 50 odd fry. I left all in the community tank but took 5 out and place them in that net thingy.

Ok....From the remaining 45 only 6 survived. But from the group of 5, 3 made it. The remaining 6 i took out last night cos the pair now again has 50 odd fry.

Now what do i do. figures show me to take them out.......but when.:wondering:

 

lol, my brother had the same problem, the community tank soon became a community of kribs.

 

I experienced that the male eats them and then want to mate with the female again. Remove the fry after +-1 week of free swimming

 

Hi Nick. Actually they died one buy one from the start. The last day before the new spawn the female chased the old fry and the male kept on protecting. When i removed the last 6 he still attacked the net. The female couldn't care less.

I think i shall remove after one week.

Wouldn't this stress the parents to much. Maybe leaving 10 odd fry just to keep the instincts going.???

 

Still waiting for those apistos to spawn bro. . .I'm sitting with about 40 fry from that pair . . They grow so slow though . .

Once the fry are about 5mm , remove them (with some water) from the tank. I separated the fry I currently have now. . 0 fatalities

 

Yep also still waiting but im in no hurry.

Back to the kribs. How do you guy sell your fry(sub-adult) to the petshops. Consignment, credit or just straight sell and for how much would a Krib go?

 

I had the same problem that they die one by one and found that their is no food for them in the tank. I grow algae in the tank and htey survived. You can remove all the fry after +-1 week and feed them on brine shrimp.

That actually all depends on the petshop. Some pet shops will give you a store credit, some will give you a really small amount of cash, and some will show you the door. (Unfortunately)

 

Luckly the petshop i got this breeding pair from have ask me for the offspring, now how much can i ask? I dont want cash but credit would be nice
