    So, I got 3 kribs from @ammar . Two are male and one is possibly a female, and mine is a female. So its a total of four kribs. How will i know if either of them have paired up?? The two males doesnt do any thing to each other and they arent even bothered by the presence of the females.

    The two males are probably around 7-9cm and one female is about 5-6cm and the other female is 4-5cm, the one females belly goes dark pink and she does this shivering infront of either male that comes close to her "cave"

    That sounds like she is interested.
    Once they have all settled down, am sure they will pair up.

    Yes, sounds like that female is strutting her stuff. Those males sound like they have reached adult size already. Condition them on some good foods and they should breed pretty soon. Do you have caves/ spawning sites for them?

    If you plan to leave both pairs in the tank, make sure you put potential territories at opposite ends of the tank. If you put a cave in the middle, and a pair takes it, they're going to end up guarding the whole middle area of the tank.

    I have two caves and one that goes through. Will that be fine for them?

    Put one one either end of the tank, but nothing in the middle. Basically, the middle should be a no-one's zone. If you put something there, the kribs may see it as a territory border marker, so to speak, and make their territory up to there.

    Years ago, I had a pair of kribs in a 2ft community tank. If I stuck their cave in the corner, they stayed there and let the other fish swim around the tank happily. If I put their cave in the middle of the tank, they started attacking all the fish and guarding the tank. I also had to be careful how I arranged the wood and rocks because they would use them as markers for territory. But it meant I could make the territory as big or as small as I wanted. All depended on how close the next piece of decor was.

    @Xandoz

    cool thanks for the info, i will only keep two caves then. its my first kribs so im learning about them. so far i find them inttesting to watch.

    just an off topic question, i have one 960l/hr internal filter and one 900l/hr canister filter, is the canister of sufficient size or shoul i get one with a higher flow rate? i suppose the current flow rate is about 600-750l/hr.

    I'm going to leave that for someone else to answer, re: the filters. I bred my kribs with UG filters, but everything's been updated since then (I'm coming back into fishkeeping after a 4 year break), so I'm still finding my feet with the new, improved filteration systems.

    I will say that if you have a strong current, try keep it along the upper half of the tank. Kribs tend to hang near the bottom with their fry and if the current is too powerful, the fry will end up getting washed around the tank. Those tiny tails can only paddle so fast! ;D

    I personally use sponge filters for my breeding tanks, just so that the babies don't get sucked up or battle to swim

    @Ammar

    I guess you are correct on patience, im just so keen to see them spawn. Our lfs has quite some angels and there are angels that are completely black. Just thought you would wanna know. Good to hear she is okay. The one male is "cleaning" out the one cave so maybe it will happen soon, he does chase the other fish away when the get near the one female, maybe thats a good sign.

    thanx man, my biggest challenge is to get those to pair up and spawn. i think its happening, not too sure they have paired but you can see 2 of them are sticking around each other a lot of the time.
