These 2 are permanently sizing each other up. Do you guys think the similar horizontal stripe might contribute to this.

Classic picture, just look at the krib giving the death look.

Since the krib is hiding in the grass I think its a case of stalking :D

Kribs like to hold a small territory, and while I've never owned one of those algae eaters, at the shops I've seen them do some small chases - perhaps a clash of territories?

Wouldn't worry about it though, unless actual damage is being done, the fish are getting really stressed or a fish is prevented from feeding.

Just wait till you get your orange flash bro . . .the male is HUGE!!! Might just give that krib a wacking.

Nice to see you have such a keen interest in dwarf cichlids.

It might think that the other fish is of the same species . . I saw my only male guppy trying his tricks on a male ghost Xray tetra . . .hectic.

Go-Big . . . your long term plan cannot be accomplished unless you have a harem of the same species. Stocking only dwarfs is going to end in a lot of dead fish. . please be cautious :)

Live Blood worms . . . Frozen blood worms on occasions where I don't have time to net and 'Tweeze' out live BW. Also fed Baby Brine Shrimp.

Again ... .treat these fish like they are your babies . . .that's how careful I was with them . .

The strips may be a possbility, mistaking it for it's own kind. But my best guess is that your kribs are paired and looking to breed. I have Green terror temporarily in my Malawi tank and he only goes after the fish with similiar colouration. My algae eater used to face off with my Oscars, now that's kewl!
