My Kribensis females are both showing the purple colouring of being ready top spawn and both are displaying to the respective sized males

    ...... HOWEVER.....

The males just dont look that keen and are not showing the're spawn colours (which I read are just a brighter version of the patterning shown during none spawn times).

Is there anyway I can get them interested? I've started feeding frozen bloodworm to try condition....

    Any advice would be appreciated.

P.s. these fish are Just amazing to watch!

yup at the moment I have two pairs in a 3ft tank? is this a prob, I moved them from my Dads 2ft where they've been living for aprox. 2 years with no probs?

well maybe thats the problem... are the males fighting? they might be more interested in defending their territory being together in the same tank so you might have more luck seperating them and then see how they do.

I havnt observed any fighting as of yet infact it seems to be the females who do most of the competing...

Unfortunately I just dont have another tank to seperate them into?? Unless I move them to my Sailfin tank, any compatability issues there?

once they pair and spawn they will chase the sailfins in that tank...

what about dividing the tank with some black perspex or similar? if you divide the tank then make sure both sides have adequate filtrationa and heating...
