Kind LFS

Well not exactly what the title says but any ways.

I bought a 20w light and power supply from my LFS about 3 weeks ago. Everything was fine until i turned it on this moring! Light flickered and made a pop noise! Power supply burnt

Anyways went to go speack to the owner, who wasn't there. Waited for him to call me back for almost 6 hours which he never did. Went there to speack to him, said nothing but "Take this 35w, should work".

Not really something to be excited about i think but ja just felt like sharing it.

Tell me, is the wattage to little?

how big is your tank? Also troyfish,most light ballast's have a 1yr guarantee,all mine were under guarantee..

 

rough man . try the cfl route . go to builders wharehousethey have everything

 

your GLOBES/TUBES are rated accordingly if you have a 20w tube you use a 20w ballast 30>30...40>40 etc be careful of some LFS they dont really give two cr@ps and will keep selling you cr@p cos guess what? alot of people are just so gullible they will keep goin back to the LFS afterall he owns a petshop he must know something B S...I think buy the required spectrum tube you need and then go to your local electrical shop or lighting shop who will give you the correct rated ballast etc...

 

the ballast have a label on it , check them carefully or open it up there is a label some where . most ballast are around the same price with a higher W ballast being only a little more expensive . don't be fooled into the biger is beter . get what you need for the globe nothing more nothing less . and read don't listen to pet shop guys they milk you dry.
