Howst after last weekend shopping for T5 lighting to add to his corner tank he was getting custom built my Auncle decided to cancel the tank he purchased already and buy a juwel as per my recommendations.
I just came back from the pet shop and glad to say my Auncle is buying a juwel trigon 350!
Now the issue is backgrounds we want a plain black background but are not willing to paint the tank ,anyone with a idea of what to do ?

Otherwise we will get one of those juwel rock backgrounds ,what you guys think ?anyone with pics of their juwel backgrounds please post as well as any recommendations.

    Thanx,cheers

The normal "old fashioned" background that have pictures on now come available in plain blue, dark blue and even black. All you do is tape it to the back of the tank with insulation tape.

For my corner tank I had black A4 pieces of card and taped them togethr to make the correct size for the back panel of the tank, and then taped it to that panel. It looked quite good, and hid all the pipes and wires, but the tank became rather too dark as my wood would not stop leaching, so the brown water coupled with the black background seemed to suck all the light out.

    Just my thoughts!

Expensive, but if used well, can look fantastic. I would just worry that any algae growth would ruin the look, and it would be difficult to clean off the 'rock'?

Also bare in mind that Ideally they should be Siliconed in place, so that no fish can get behind them and get stuck.

    Regards
    G!
