juwel 240 litre black

My juwel 240 litre tank in black. I had a problem with snails so had to take out all my plants and hand pick and bait the mts snails. Still some left. I keep loaches, panda corys, boesmani, red and dwarf neon rainbows and harlequins. Made a terrace out of dragon rock and got a nice piece if drift wood that grows it's own moss. Any ideas on how to setup tank. Thinking if centering wood and putting another rock on left then when add plants putting dwarf hair grass in front and rest of tank with fire moss and Java ferns.

What do you think and ideas on how best to setup tank. First time I am doing a planted tank.

 

I really don't know why people consider MTS such bad thing, only reason is those folks with their expensive designer substrate. I have thousands in my tank and they only do good.

 

I went looking for MTS and so far mine haven't been breeding out of control. Must admit the few that are there are doing a good job of keeping the plant debree to a minimum making my tank look a lot cleaner than what it was.

As for the tank setup: You have a very nice setup to go bonkers really. Maybe first look at what you can get in your area in terms of plants, unless you want to work from a "blue print"?

 

The snails just look unsightly. Dont mind having a few but if you have a planted tank and they breed, mine were all over the plants. In terms of plants I have no idea cos never setup a planted tank before. All i had before was a bit of vallis. I do like java fern and the hair grass plants but other than that dont know what will look good. I want obviously tall plants at the back. Something preferrrably dark green then lighter colour hair grass in front. I've also seen fire fern or fire moss at petshop and they said they will give me a few snippets. Where can I get hair grass or dwarf hair grass like they do in the Iwagumi tanks? Any suggestions on what plants would look really good to fill up tank other tan java fern and hair grass...
