Just Joined

Howzit guys.

As the title says I just joined. Did not know that there was a South African freshwater aquarium forum . I had been keeping fish for quite a few years but after moving home several times and my marine aquarium cracking, I went through a reptile phase. I was told in Islam we are not allowed to keep snakes so I am back to aquarium keeping (much more enjoyable actually!).

At the moment I only have two 3 foot tanks and 1 two foot. I hope to increase this number :bigsmile:.

To Linxie I meant in faith (sorry if I was not to clear about that).

When I had my tanks when I was in high school (about 10 years ago, hehe) we moved a lot. When we were moving this one time, the marine tank fell and cracked. I gave the fish away and just never got back into it.

As to what I keep:

1st tank (3 foot)

3 Tatia intermedia
3 Mystus tengara
6 Hypseleotris cyprinoides
2 Melanotaenia praecox (will be adding more of this species)

2nd tank (3 foot)

5 Bedotia geayi
2 Microglanis iheringi
1 Pseudomystus siamensis
pair of Ancistrus cf cirrhosus

3rd tank (2 foot)
My wifes' tank and I have not added anything yet.

Well, pics are another story. My photography skills are, putting it mildly, S#!T. Will try though

(sorry don't know how to do the quote thingy) the goonch Bagarius yarrelli is an asian catfish that gets to about 1.5 m. It was apparently responsible for several fatal human attacks in the Kali River. Check out some of the vids on youtube
