    hello All
has anyone ever kept anything with a jardini with some success
got a 15cm lil guy in a 5 foot at the moment (7 foot waiting for him) and was thinking of putting a flowerhorn in the same tank with same decor fro the flowerhorn.
wanted to know if anyone has tried and had luck
    regards Mark

maybe a shoal of small barbs might work and some plants for hiding space

I had one but couldn't keep it with any other fish. The most aggressive fish I've ever kept besides the Fahaka puffer. But they differ in personality so you might have some luck with yours.

I had one that i recently sold, Tried putting him with a much larger oscar at the time and they were fine for a while, but during the night my oscar was literally trying to jump out the tank hiding from this guy, so i separateds them. I them tried him with a flowerhorn, the most aggressive fish i had and he still figured a way to mess it up. Then i tried to put him with a pleco, still no good. When i sold him and he dominated that new tank, dominating fully growen jags aparently. Since then i have two babies that are with some big guys. Im trying to keep them with semi-aggressive fish, maybe that will allow them to handle sharing space when theyre bigger , hopefully

The jardini will be fine until it reaches about 20 to 25 cm

Then it will start getting Argo , anything with a similar body shape bigger or smaller ,flowerhorns , oscars etc ive tried them all will be picked on , the jar will swim past , strike swim past again strike until the victim is kaput , . I wouldn't put barbs or smaller fish in they tend to nip on the fins of the jardini in the day and disappear a night .
So far I have had the best success with BIG CLOWN LOACHES 10cm plus , the jar ignores them most of the times but is to slow to catch them anyway ..My tank now has 5 clown loaches 1 Pakistani maybe 10 torpedoed barbs and one big Argo jardini .
All in all totally worth it thou .enjoy ..
Otherwise any one with a 40 cm plus male that's to big and nasty .let me know .

Sorry .it might be worth trying the planted idea while the jardini is still small ,it might get used to the plants and not destroy them like mine does ,then you could try sneak other fish in there.

plant to much admin i recon tank going into workshop so do not have huge time to try keep planted tank running, also in 20 years of fish keeping have never had a single live plant.
