    Seems there may be some action happening here. If anyone else breeds these guys please comment as this is a first for me. The female's tube is now completely distended.

    @pHish_man,
    You will have to keep a close eye on them.
    The male can get very very agro from what I have read.

    They still seem to be busy, as both parents are still circling over the slate.

    Flipping eggs everywhere.

    I'm wanting to breed my red shoulder Severums which are currently on a community tank. When did you move your jags to their breeding tank? Or have they always been there?

    Haha.. Cool. Luckily you dodged Mother's Day by an uncomfortably thin margin. That kind of spawn deserves diamond jewellery.

    Both parents are hovering over the spawning site and are fanning the eggs, for now there doesn't seem to be any aggression.

    @pHish_man,

    Good to hear.

    Do you have someone who will take the youngsters off you?
    The aggro SA cichlids can be difficult to offload.

    I hear you, but my first hurdle will be to raise a spawn successfully.

    Will also give me something to do while I wait patiently for my discus to spawn......
