    Hello everyone

It's with a heavy heart that I have to take down my setups, with me taking on a new job in a new province. I can't take any of my fish with me, so I'll post here what I have in the hope that they can find suitable homes. I'm not asking for much for them, nor is the sale urgent. If it comes down to nobody taking them on, my LFS is happy to take them on for display purposes or to move them on themselves.

Below are the species, size, price, picture, and any notes that I feel are important.

    1) Silver distichodus (Distichodus affinis), x3, 12-16cm, R200 for the group

    28154672787_dac6a9d4f3.jpg

Eat lots of veggies. Peas are a favourite. Can be skittish, so they need room and things to duck behind, at least initially.

    2) Breeding colony of "Flameback" cichlids (Xystichromis phytophagus), x10 plus however many fry/juveniles, 5-10cm, R150 for all

    42102695535_6d097a5e35.jpg

Two dominant males, the rest subdominant males or female. Breed continuously. Need vegetable matter occasionally.

    3) Dragon puffer (Pao palembangensis), x1, no asking price

    42984586705_ddcea21ab3.jpg

No price listed because it's a specialist fish. Freebie. It will absolutely not mix with any other fish, except perhaps other dragon puffers in a 3ft+ tank. Very picky eater. Primarily consumes frozen fish pieces, will accept good quality crustacean meat, will hesitantly eat mollusc meat (or ignore it). Previous owner fed live fish and shrimp. Good looking but doesn't do much. Looking for long-term home with someone who doesn't mind giving it a tank to him/her.

    4) Red tailed giant gourami (Osphronemus laticlavius), x1, about 20cm, R200

    44167231992_f4366491a5.jpg

I wouldn't say aggressive, but dislikes sharing food. Passionately hates silver-coloured fish. Heavy on food consumption and waste production. Good looking fish but be wary of the attitude. Red on fins varies with mood.

    5) Starry cichlid (Paratilapia polleni), x1, 12cm, R150

    26533762648_27876f25c8.jpg

Really likes pellet foods, rarely takes frozen. Rather slow growing. Can be moody - may hide and refuse to eat for short periods if disturbed too much.

    6) Jack dempsey (Rocio octofasciata) x2 (male/female), 8-11cm, R100

    30348108388_4aa3485a18.jpg

Pretty well behaved because they're young.

    Any questions welcome.

I'm based in Durban, so I don't know how you feel about shipping.

Collection may be easiest but if you're set on having them shipped we can discuss further in PM.

    Hi @Anram

@Christiaan Duvenage and I are discussing the flamebacks at present, otherwise you can have first dibs on the others, and would be really convenient. Where are you based?

    Hi everyone!

I neglected to close this thread when all the fish were sold some time ago. They've all been moved on to new homes, so if the mods could please close this thread, it would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,
