if it looks like a small white dot that is sort of protruding the skin then yes I would assume what could be the start of ich

Doesn’t look like ich to me, probably fungal or bacterial but @DoubleDutch The Cory King should know.

It isn't Ich that's for sure.
But what is it ? Could be a bacterial issue, but another possibility is that it simply is an overproduction of mucus cause of something in the water. I'd first do some daily waterchanges and see what happens.
I think I see a spot alike on its side.

Mmm could this be a hybrid Cory ?
    Sterbai x Trilineatus.
Funny thing was I was asking myself what species it was untill I read the title.
It isn't a plain Sterbai. Sterbai are the ones that seem to be to have more skin issues than others.

Personally I haven’t had luck with Sterbais, so find your comment interesting/ somehow reassuring.

It looks like a fungal issue. You can treat it with Seachem Paraguard.

My Sterbais all got tumors on them and I had to euthanize. All cory species I have kept since havent shown any issues

Fungus will normally only be on dead tissue / wounds. It doesn't look like fungus (cottony) to me.

If it was cottony fungus. I've used methylene blue bath to get it off my dragon puffer. Got rid of it in 8 treatments.

Treatment is 2ml to 10L. Put fish in the bath for 45 to 60 minutes with an air stone. Repeat twice a day for best results. Don't treat the tank as 5ml per 100L can destroy your cycle.

I would add abit of aquarium salt probably 2 teaspoons for every 100L. Helps fish recover their slime coat and heal.

the cory has taken a turn for the worst and doesn't look like its going to make it could it be due to the fluctuating CO2 levels these past days?
