Yep, plecos are starting to take over some of the rivers in KZN.
Who wants a large pleco? We can drive down and catch some ourselves

What about rainbow and brown trout, large and small mouth bass, carp, bluegills, sunfish etc, etc, etc all in our dams and rivers, none aquarium fish, all introduced from North America and Asia. I'm sure we'll be seeing red tailed and shovel nose cat fish in the warmer parts of sa soon as well....

There are lots of invasive fish (and animals) in the UK.
I was highlighting the fact that it is not only a problem in SA

Plecos in KZN, lets have a convoy from Gauteng, I'll bring the catching nets and beer.
On a serious note, although I agree that dumping fish in our rivers and dams is tantamount to ecological sabotage and and that anyone flushing a live fish down the toilet should be reported to the SPCA and face criminal charges, I cant help but imagine how cute a shoal of cory's will look happily swimming in the apies.

I'm on an international carp angling forum and the cross-bred carp that comes out of some european dams and rivers is something to be seen. How about a 8kg "longtail, highfin goldfish mixed carp".

Funny, this thread is on the Dutch forum as well hahaha.
Strange thing is they caught them in a pond to my believe.
Do Canadian toilets end up in a pond hahaha?
