    Hi all,

Just a side question that had me thinking last night. Has anyone tried using their water that they take out when they do their weekly water change & syphon to water their indoor house plants or garden plants?

From my understanding of the nitrogen cycle, there would be ammonia, nitrites & nitrates in the water, and was wondering if this was beneficial to normal plants in any way??

Hi Zoom - there is lots of anecdotal evidence as well as papers on this subject. YES the water is GREAT for your plants , just do not expect to become a commercial operation - See "Ask the prof's" thread on aquaculture.

Yip - water syphoned out of the tank is good for your plants (better than rain water I hear)

Since I use all the water from waterchanges, on my (pot)plants, I've noticed a vast improvement on their lustre and growth.
