Installing zetlight on juwel tank

Good morning!

i am thinking of replacing the standard lights on a 90 cm 180l juwel tank with zetlight lancia freshwater lights. I have a zetlight on a different tank and saw it came with T8 adaptors.

Has anybody done the conversion that could please tell me how they did it?

Also which zetlight in a 90cm tank? I would have thought the 895 but saw the connectors are pretty close together and not sure it would fit?

Lastly, would like to grow some high tech plants (with co2 injection). Would you need 2 zetlights?

I managed to fit them - the T5 adaptors slide in from the bottom (clip out very easily though, might need to tape them).

The 742 zetlight lancia was the perfect size.

 

Works beautifully! It is very bright. I still need to add the second light but not even sure that is really necessary.

Fits the Juwel tank perfectly - flaps close nicely and you can angle the light to cover the whole tank.

My original idea was to place a Chihiros slim or pro directly on the rim of the tank and brace the two flaps on either side with aluminium strips from Builders (I will be moving some jumpers into the new tank) but the shop told me the electronics in the Chihiros wont survive the condensation under the canopy. Apparently the zetlight is more waterproof.

 

Hi. Interested to know how things are going with this tank. I'm also interested in a juwel but hoped the standard stock lights will be good enough.

 

It works extremely well. There is a lot of condensation under the lid but have had no problems with the zetlight.(a lot of the others, including chihiros are touchy about moisture) It is a low tech tank and the light is more than adequate for that (am running it at 50% at peak).

Would like to add a second light, more to have even light at the back, but nobody seems to have the 742 length in stock at the moment.

 

This is the tank just now. Light is at 6% white, 10% red, blue and green.

Plants are growing very well. Have recently pruned, left the cuttings as a floating village for the gertrude rainbows.

Yes, have been running the tank on 1 light since Nov last year and everything is growing well (all low/medium light plants) Easy to angle the light. Good luck with yours!!

(I have a rescued common pleco in there, so the scaping is determined more by what she doesnt dig out than by the light levels! That is also why I didnt go high tech in the end, she doesnt tolerate co2 well)

 

Hi there I have a chihiros 90 on a juwel rio 180.
Planet doing amazing with it. I have also Changed the filtration to a tidal 110.

Yes, I have also removed the internal filtration and replaced it with an Eheim Experience 350 canister and Aquavitro stainless steel lily pipes (finding lily pipes that are long enough to reach the water was a mission!)
