Yeah ive been too cheap to give it a test like this lol.

    What brand\wattage did you buy?

So far all I could find rule wise is that it needs to be pointing up and on the filter outflow

This is the exact one I bought

I only realised after, inline heaters are actually cheaper than internal heaters here in NZ so I kind of found that as a bonus.

But fish stuff in general, are pretty freaking expensive anyways.

The above link is the shop I use often.

    Okay so initial impression,

They freaking SUCK to install, I don’t know if it was just me or what, but I felt like ripping my tank apart to get this thing in and to sit correctly where I can see the temp and adjust it.

And another note, the pipe fittings they give with dont fit my canister too well, the smallest ones are too small and 1 size up from those are too big, also somethimes they grip the pipe and other times you just look at them and they fall off the pipe, nearly made me lose my mind.

Basically had to redo ALL my canister pipes and if they have been in a position for a while its a real pain in the ……. To make them go a different direction.

But once it is in its actually a pretty good heater, the one I have shows the temp of the water going through it and the temp it has to heat the water to which is pretty nice, also super easy to see when its on or off.

Hasn’t been in long so can’t give anymore feedback than that unfortunately.

I had the same experience when I had to do my first Inline Co2 and feel the same way when it comes to fiddling with filter pipes.

This is the one im looking at, but i have seens lots of comments on the internet that you need to keep hosepipe clamps ready as they all need to have them to be extra safe
