importing killifish eggs? legal/illegal?

hi guys, I was wondering if it would be legal to import killifish eggs to south Africa without a permit?

i have found this on an import permit application

"If you want to import live animals, poultry and genetic materials such as semen and embryos into South Africa you must apply for a permit from the Registrar: Animal Improvement 30 days before the intended date of import.
You must also apply for a veterinary certificate from the Director: Animal Health
"

and I'm not sure if this applies to eggs? genetic materials seems like it would include eggs but i am not sure.

i do not want to cause an uproar between members. so if you have imported eggs and its not legal please rather not mention it. or something in those lines.

 

I imported killifish eggs and was stop by customs.

 

Well that sucks.

Was it marked as eggs or some type of sample ?

cant remember. But don't argue with them or you may get a huge fine
