Well today I feel like a right chop, and rather sad for it.

I've had a Betta for almost five years now in a little tank in my room.

It's one of those where you can pull the plug and it drains the water from the bottom. I usually just fill a jug of water the night before and let it stand so the chlorine can dissipate, and then I change the water once every two weeks or so.

So you don't need to guess what happened.

I pulled the plug, went to eat then came back to finish my Forza tournament for another hour or so, and then suddenly something triggered in my brain remembering about my fish, who by this time was laying peacefully at the bottom of the tank.

Added the water quickly, and the little oukie literally kick started.

Being a Labyrinth fish I wasn't too worried, and the little guy seemed perfectly fine last night when I went to bed.

This morning however, he was laying very very still and now I fear the worst.

    /sadness.

Well at least he was very old already.

I mean their lifespan is only supposed to be about 3 years, so having almost done 5 I guess the stress of the event was simply too much.

Now where can I find Crown Tails in Cape Town?

Yeah I know Dolphin has them aplenty, was hoping to skip the shipping problem.

If you ship live stock down, do you have to fetch it at the airport?

he came down to cape town and brought it with. I just had to fetch from a friend of him. PM him and see what he can do for you. I'd recommend him anytime.

    Been there... done that...

Sauron.. you confessing to the converted here. I was once using my fish net to net out all the leaves out of my tank. Only to discover an hour later when I decided to empty out the net that I had accidentally netted up a female guppy. She didn't survive the ordeal.. and left me feeling rather k@k about the whole thing.

    Thanks ACE007 :blink1:

SauRon, let me know if we can help... Overnight shipping is no problem or I can include it when I'm sending stuff down on the 30th so you can save on shipping.

While doing a water change one day my better half sucked a Pretty Tetra into the pipe of our vacuum thingy. Half way down the pipe the okey got stuck and mommy started panicking. She was standing there slapping the pipe against the tank to get him out. Fortunately I was in the area so I grabbed the pipe and cut it in half and released the Tetra. He is still alive today, but he might have some degree of brain damage due to the slapping against the tank LOL

And who are you sending stuff down for on the 30th?
