Illegal Red Shrimp..."Busted"

    Found these interesting little creatures for sale at a certain fish shop in Bothasig...
    My Favourite salesperson: "Yup we got them in on Friday..."by mistake"...and We're selling them by mistake too.." :eek:

    R14.50 each...

    Freshwater red shrimp...
    Apparently they feed on algea and some moss

    But that really looks like a marine tank, are you sure they're freshwater?
    If they are indeed red cherry shrimp, then they'll eat algae and pretty much anything you put in the tank. But they'll also likely get eaten up by any other fish you have in the tank too.

    Yeah and my fish will feed on them.Guys these shrimp are very "delicate" so do not keep them in an aquarium with fish but by themselves.

    Reading this i am wondering how many of us in cpt will be making a turn to get some even tough they are "illegal" :) :) :)

    Unless they're that dumb to put cherry red shrimp in a marine tank, it's probably marine blood or royal red shrimp.

    I think you'd be surprised to find out how many people actually have freshwater shrimp in SA. All the local forums denounce them, but there's always about 5 to 10 members that actually have them. And since they're in line to be taken off the blacklist... people can actually start considering setting up a nice nano with some shrimp.

    the tank looks pretty much like a marine setup - so its most prob fire-shrimps

    ITS A MARINE BACKDROP!.....but a freshwater tank....

    It are pretty paper stuck on the back of the tank :D
