    Good day

Can you guys who know gold fish please help
They are silvery olive colour seems to me to look like comets.

I saved these guys on monday from a house in olifantsfontein they were in a pool that was converted to a pond and the water was more like a muddy paste than water and believe me the oder very bad "vrot" they will be moved to a 3000l pond on the weekend.

    Thanx

That looks like a mix of 'regular' goldfish (i.e.: their natural shape and colour - kind of) and some comets. All their care is the same. I highly recommend moving those fish around - either they all need to be moved to a much larger enclosure or spread out between a multitude of tanks.

    Regards,

Yes, agree with Tim. The olive colouring is the juvenile colouring, they'll change to their adult colours later.

Yes, I'm sure - I've never quite figured out what all the factors are in causing goldfish to colour up, some change when they're tiny, some only much later in life. I've had goldfish fry that change colour when as small as a cm, others when they are much larger. The next is just supposition, but I've wondered if its a survival strategy - that olive colour lets them blend in so much better. But that's just an idea!
