My little 50 litre tank had an outbreak of ich in the week that I'm treating with Seachem Cupramine and elevated temparatures.

    Has anyone used this medicine?

The instructions are to give a measured dose, and then another dose 48 hours later (which I did this morning). That's the whole treatment, and you're warned not to give more unless you test and the water is below a certain Cu concentration.

My question is, would another 48 hours after the last dose be enough time to then do a large water change? Or should I wait and/or do a smaller water change first and rather wait a while?

As long as you are sure the ich has gone through its life cycle you can do a water change. Cu to inverts is like As to us. Personally I would do multiple smaller WC over a few days rather than a large WC all in one go.

Luckily I have no inverts in the tank, but I did remember that they aren't big fans of the copper ;)

I'll keep an eye on the ich and start doing changes when I can't see any more spots then?

Just curious, why would you do a bunch of small change rather than a bigger one?
By big I'm thinking 50% rather than 20%.

Smaller more frequent WC keeps the water parameters more stable so its easier for the fish to adjust to any potential changes. If the water you are putting in is very close to the water you are taking out it makes no difference.

50 L is not a huge volume of water to start with. It wont take a lot to cause the water parameters to change quite quickly.
