What type of worms do you have in the tank? If you can give us an idea then we can better advise you on what other options you could try.

I asked mark at petstop about using (Fenbendazole) and he said he won't use it, he will use other methods. I'm trusting what he is saying, he always give me correct info.

Hi I used panacur that I got from the vet and it works like a charm for planaria. I was a bit nervous so I under dosed initially but it worked. I have mostly tetras in my tank. My tank size is about 40 x 40 x 60 cm. I used half a millilitre on day one and then again on day four with a 50% water change two days after dosing both times.

Don' t hold me responsible if it doesn't work but I was very happy with my results.

I wound blame any one if it does not work.

According to my Interpet Manual of Fish Health, they recommend using a treatment called 'Piperazine citrate' to treat Camallanus nematodes. A dosage of 25mg of 'piperazine citrate' mixed with 10mg of slightly moistened flake food is to be fed to the fish over a 5 - 10 day period, a repeat course of treatment may be needed after 10 - 14 days.

I know that there is something else to treat this infestation, and as soon as I find it, I will post what it is, but I hope that this helps in the mean time...

Camallanus Worms: An Aquariasts Worst Nightmare

Hi here is an article using the panacur. You can get it in paste form for dogs and cats or a liquid for that is used for goats and sheep. I used the paste form mixed with water to dissolve it easier. Otherwise it just sinks to the bottom of the tank. I have a tube so if you don't come right let me know, maybe we can post it or something.

Thanks terri lee, do you put it in the food or in the tank?

Tuesday I'll go to the vet and NTK and ask if they have it.

All six my angels have the worms and my breeding pair so I hope I kan get some thing to help.

A very good article. It recommends that you soak food in the chemical then put it in the tank. If any one that has more info on this topic please share as we could seriously learn some thing here.

This thread is a clear sign of where TASA is heading.

    @nicolaas

Make your way to the nearest Pigeon club or LPS specialising in Pigeon care. Buy yourself some Dovaworm tablets.
Dovaworm contains Levamisole which will kill the Cammalanus worms.

    You have two options-

If the fish are eating well - crush a tablet and dissolve the powder in a small amount of water. Put some flake/granular food in this solution to suck up the solution and feed the food to the fish immediately.
You will have to do this once a day for about 5 days in a row.

Alternatively dissolve the powder and pour it straight into a tank in which you can then place the Angels. The dosage is 2mg per liter. The tablets are 10mg in strength if not mistaken, so you need one tablet for every 5liters of water
Leave the fish in the water containing the solution for at least 48hrs.
Beware of the fact that Levamisole will destroy most of the filter bacteria and therefore should not be used in your display tank.

    Hope you get sorted

Thanks @Marco we all have learned some thing here. This was a really good thread. I will jot down this name of the tablet for future reference. This is why TASA is so good.

I have had great results with 99% Levamisole hydrocloride. If dosed the correct way anyone can have great results. Have a look at this website Levamisole Hydrochloride Loaches Online.
I have used a product called Prodose Red. Within hours the worms were dead. You simply dose the water column accordingly and do a water change after 12 hours or so. Possible internal parasite.
