    Lets introduce myself

My name is Keith I am from Cape Town was living up in JHB for 8 years and moved back. You will be missing this beautiful climate we have here in Capw Town.

I started about many moons ago breeding tropical fish then went through a growing up phase and stopped, but always admired other peoples fish tanks and made regular visit to petshops whenever I am in a shopping mall or stop when I see one when I drive pass.

I April 2009 my manager moved and she had a corner tank with a variety of malawis so she gave them all to me. I started researching via the website about malawis because everyone was crazy about these fish. I started losing interest in malawi because the guys started to inter breed these fish.

Then in June the brichardi bug affecting me I wanted these fish so badly but could not get any, but I went onto the internet I saw some guy had a breeding pair so I bought them, kept them with my malawi that was a bad mistake these two fish took over my whole tank as big as the malawis were they were so stressfull. I then bought another 2 tanks and separted them and bought another 15 adults. I then bought another 1.2m tank and started my colony and I had about over 1000 fry, I am now trying to sell them in June.

I bought another 2m tank and now I have a variety of Tanganyikan cichlids: duboisi; frontosas;julidochromis;leleupi;shelldwellers;compressicep;furcifer;tropheus
and I am now going to start breeding with tropheus a very challenging.

This is a mouthful when I introduce myself because I am so interest now in this fish.

    Chat again,

I have only ever had tropical fish ranging from barbs, sharks, silver dollars, mollys etc.. to Malawis.

    Since I moved to Jhb I owned a 90cm tank with 2 oscars,ghost knife and a hi-fin pleco.

I then moved to a 1.2m , got rid of the oscars and purchased silver dollars tinfoil barbs , scissor tails, corys and 5 clown loaches.
I then purchased a 5cm arowana and 12 mnths later it was over 30cm, and all i was left was with the silver dollars , pleco, ghost knife and clown loaches lol

At the beginning of this year I upgraded to a 1.5x60x65,got rid of the arowana and silver dollars and purchased smaller fish such as 6 tinfoil barbs,3 pangasius catfish,3 cigar sharks,11 scissor tails,4 rainbow fish,1xclown knife,1xdeacon,1xuaru,1xancistrus,5xbala sharks,2xangels,2xparrots,2xplattys,4xcongo tetras,1xalgae eater,1x spiny eel.
Subsequent to the fish mentioned I also have my 5 clowns,1x black ghost knife and a hi-fin pleco

I see the problem - we need to get the heading renamed "New members Please pop in and say hi and introduce yourself." is obviously confusing, could probably read "New members Please pop in and say hi and introduce yourself in your own thread."

Welcome TropicalBoy pity about the hijacking.

    Welcome All!
Maybe it could be good to only have one welcome thread, as there are so many "dead" threads.
That way, one can intro himself, get all the welcomes, and then a new person can intro him/her etc...
