Well it has come to that stage where one of my O's has decided that the whole tank now belong to him.He is constantly pitch black and does not allow the other Oscar to leave his hiding place and will sometimes even chase him out of his hiding place.

So far i'm planning to buy 2 more pieces of driftwood to help break line of sight as well as some large hardy plants to cover up the hiding places (like amazon swords).

Any other suggestions on what i can do?

Do you know if they're male or female? 2 females will live together more peacefully than males. If they're 2 males you can sometimes be lucky and they will tolerate each other. Keeping the tank temperature below 25 deg C helps to tone down the aggression.

My son has 2 Oscars which I suspect are both males. They go through stages where they fight and can be quite rough with each other, but not yet to the point where they need to be separated. It is something you need to watch carefully. If it looks like one of them is being bullied to death you will have to separate them.

Plants won't last long - LOL - they might give the Os something else to do while they rip the plants shreds, though.

    Yep agree with Jenn
Unless you have a group of 4 or so then they wont fight.
When you have 2 young o's they fine once they reach maturity they start becoming aggressive towards each other specially if they both males.

How big are they and how big is the tank?

It is always best to have more than 4 oscars or only 1, but there are allot of oscars that do grate together.

As Jenn said the temp plays a big roll in temperament.

Getting more wood is a very good start.

Plants wound last but Onion plants are very touth but they need lots of light.

Please post more info ie size of fish and size of tank, if you have 2 15cm oscars in a 3 foot tank they going to kill each other no matter how much wood and plants you have, lighting and temp play a big part too, more light higher temp makes for more agro but all dependent on tank size and number of fish

Both Oscars are 15cm long, tank is 500L.They seem to have calmed down themselves, they are swimming together again. temp is 26-27c average, light only go on at around 5PM and off midnight.

I have another problem, the power is going to be down in the Sinoville area till 4PM,i'm not home so i can't do anything. Is these anything else i can do to prevent in the future.Like a truck battery hooked up to a transformer with a plug adapter that automatically kicks in once the power goes off?

Why do you leave the lights on so long if I may ask?
I find that when if I leave mine on for an extended period of time, my fish get stressed.

Uninterruptable Power Supply. The type that are using in offices to prevent data loss when the power goes down. It will give you a few hrs depending what you plug into it.
