    Snyper,
You can simply cut the runner.Cut the runner 5mm before the "baby" plant and 5mm after.Trim the roots down to about 2cm and replant in substrate. The trimming of the roots will stimulate root development of the new plant.

The new plants grow biggest on the part of the runner closest to the mother plant. So if you cut the runner then you'll lose the plants near the tip of the stem that aren't mature enough to grow on their own. My question is: Is it possible to remove the bigger babies from the runner, without cutting the runner itself, so that the smaller plants can continue to grow?

I think they grow too big for small tanks, besides if you want another one in another tank you don't have to go out and buy one.

That sounded better in my head.

That'll be my problem when my amazon grows a runner.
