    Hi
    I have been busy making caves.
    Thought it would be a nice addition to the DIY section

    1.wash slate thoroughly
    2.measure and chalk out dimensions
    3.Use a wet tile cutter or angle grinder
    3.smooth out all edges
    4.scrub clean again
    5.once dry, silicone it together
    6.after 2 days place in the tank

    Dimensions
    Ancistrus 15x4x3 (LBH)
    Peckoltia 15x4x3
    Hyps 15x3.5x2.5

    He,he ... this looks SO much cooler than those yucky pieces of PVCpiping we see in Dealers stores... Now tie some moss to it and you got and ultra cool hidey hole....

    @Khalid ... thats what I LOVE about this forum - general fishkeepers getting "dik" creative and sharing what they do... + 1 for this one mate...

    @Khalid

    Brilliant idea... and could even be buried under your substrate with just the mouth sticking out!

    Will you keep us updated as to how long the silicon lasts? I would suspect that the slate would absorb water, thus de-bonding the silicon.
