Big G, how on earth do you get into 5 crashes? Is your car transparent? Sounds awful, glad you've lived (five times!) to tell the tale. I am 25, going on 26 in August.
I'm not gonna go into too much detail now, but I went thru a 10year spate when I was still in the UK of just being in the wrong place at the wrong time! It was actually 6 crashes including 1 with the coach, and another with a Fire Engine! The others were all pretty minor except for one which I managed to steer wide and avoid my wifes sister being killed! Still the car went into a spin and was a write off! So I've had two cars written off! Cheers Big G!
Yeah, so stop complaining about how people drive on South African roads..... No wonder Gareth came to SA. Oh and Gareth, the disadvantages of being in this less mobile state is that you are now forced to keep fishes, really tough this... Kind regards, Dirk
Im 37, my wife if 30 so I guess them I'm 30. Still freeling like a 18 year old (but not on Monday mornings, LOL). Gareth: bad luck man, ever thought of rather sticking to public transport? Oh, sorry, we don't have that here in SA. To be really honest, I was expecting the ages of the members to be a bit older. I would have though that most people would be in their thirties and above. Good to see that the hobby is alive and well in the younger generations. My 2c.
I'm 23 years old, doing my masters in conservation biology @ uct. Agreed with Darryn, thought the average would've been much older. I also find it strange how few people I know that keep fish. I only have one close friend thats into fishkeeping. Is that a similar feeling? Or did most of you guys get into it through friends?
None of my friend introduced me to fishkeeping (I only have one friend who keeps fish). Just started as an interest, and has grown from there. Now even one of two of my friends are interested after seeing how much I enjoy it.
@Darryn - Hehehe, I have converted my girlfriend 100%. She's completely hooked, so I bought her a 100L tank for xmas. Now we've just spent the last month and countless trips to sams aquarium to decide what to put in it! Hehehe.
My better half has not got the time or patience for fishkeeping. She has shown some interest in getting a Betta though. Maybe I should work on that. LOL
I will be 48 this June! Broke my anckle on the 21 Jan and spend the last 2 weeks in and out of hospital. One good thing came of it - my wife is feeding the fishes every morning and evening, using a diagram of the fishroom with instructions... I do think she is starting to get hooked! Never thought that she will get "hooked" by my fishies! One/love for the fish! Gert.
