Hi all just a general thought on water changes.

Was wondering how often and what percentage of water changes do we all do on a regular basis.

Me personally I do a 25% wc on Wednesdays and a 20% wc on Sundays.

My Tiger barbs need the best cleanest water quality.

And also what species you keep in your tank as different species need more or bigger water changes.

Come on guys this should be a good read.:10msspx:

Normally I do 25% once a week. However, I have been a terrible fish mom lately and haven't done the 280L in about a month and it's still looking really clean and all the fish seem really happy. I'll clean it today though... Been so busy >.<

Yes, 50% on all. New planted tank I'm on the 50% change every 3 days.
    300l - 5 Angels, 8 Sterbas Cories, 1 Krib
    200l - 2 Kribs, 5 Synodontis nigriventris
    400l - 2 Oscars, 3 Synodontis eupterus

Sometimes when life is too busy we may skip a week, then we do a bigger water change the next week.

    3ft Tanganican tank - 50% once a week
4ft Rainbow tank with 3ft sump - 30% every second week
Both are planted tanks which must defenately help with the water quality

50% each Sunday on my 4ft planted. Minimal WC on my river tank. Mostly top-up.
