    Hi guys,

So my teras, eat all the food in the tank.
Their food and the food that is on the bottom for my new cories.

Sigh. I like cories, but don't want to over feed and ruin the balance in my tank.
Do these guys eat at night?

How do you do your cory cat thing?
Night feed or day feed, any experience will be graciously appreciated.

    Thx guys.

    @Dave Abes,

Either feed a little more. Maybe presoak the food so that some sinks straight away, and the Corries get some.

You also get specific bottom feeder pellets, which sinks quickly and should get to the Corries before the Tetras eat it.

Yeah, I was just looking into Hikari Siking Wafers.

After doing a little experiment with an algae wafer, the cories managed to muscle in there and get their feed on.

So, going to hunt around for a decent "meaty" sinking wafer.

How many Corries do you have?

A small bit of food is all that's needed.

Just 2 for now. If I enjoy them I'll get more.

I just gooi all the food in a concentrated area and let the stream take it. The tetras aren't fast enough to get all of it.
20 - 40% of the food reaches the bottom

Corys do better in larger groups, 5 or more. Mine eat Ocean Nutrition algae wafers and the brown ones, especially formulated for them. They prefer the algae wafers though. Also Tetra bits.

    Hi.
I had the same problem that they were just not getting enough food and get skinny. So now i feed some food at night when there is no lights on in the house. I have monitored them with a torch before and they eat very good with the lights off. [IMG]

No problem glad to help. Try get tetra prima. I just soak them quick in some water and put them in when the tank lights are off and all the lights close to the tank. even a bit of light and the others spot the food.
They eat slow and the small prima they can almost Swollow whole.

Get Tetra Tabimin tablets. They'll sink fast enough. Mix it up with Discus pellets.
Feed flakes at the same time so the tetras have something to chase.
If yours are anorexic, bring them to me, I'll give you some fat ones (got hundreds) and will fatten yours up -lol

Awesome - I never imagined you were a cory fan hey. I imagined galaxy rasporas - but I should have know you were into catfish with all the great otto advice. And thank you for that offer. Seriously - if I have no success with these 3 fellars here I'll drop you PM. But this is as much about learning as it is about the fish.

So yeah, I went ahead and got the TabiMin by Tetra.
The fish are interested but this stuff makes quite a mess - rather quickly?
Would these guys eat after the light is off, so I can change it up with some Tetra Prime granules - while the tetras are asleep?

They do, but why should you feed them then? It's just an awesome sight to see them scavage the tank. They'll notice in seconds there is food in the water. They are 99% carnivores and indeed need their own quality-food.

Just feed them when the lights are off till they aren't skinny anymore. Then you can feed them when you want.

Yep, with 20 neon tetras, no food gets left for the corys and all tablets get shredded and sent around the tank in 20 seconds.
So last night threw in some tabs after lights out and within an hour or so, when I checked it was all eaten.
Thanks guys, for all your input.!!!!

Or crumble the food so it divides over the bottom. corys are able to find the tiniest parts.. But the best way to fatten them up are bloodworms aso [IMG]
