You will have to strip off those panels and resilicone them back. The stuff you would use is called marine silicon. But i would say to take it to an expert if you haven't built a tank before, it can get messy if it isn't siliconed right. Hope this helped.

Thanks, is the marine silicon enough to keep the glass panels together? They are totally loose?

Yes. That is what is holding the rest of the panels together. Is this tank new?

just on the inside but make sure it gets between the cracks and there are no air bubbles, a minimum of 8 hours to dry.

Lynette, if you only got the tank yesterday, take it back to where you got it, and ask for a replacement, or that they must fix it properly. Where are you ?
I strongly suggest that the tank must be stripped and re-siliconed.
Is it standing on a flat, regular surface? If not, it could have separated due to stress points.
Some points you make, make my hair raise... :
1."is the marine silicon enough to keep the glass panels together? They are totally loose?"
    2."Yes, got it yesterday ..."
3."my house was under water my poor fish did almost not make it "
4."I have applied the silicon will leave it over night - do i apply to the outside aswell?"

It sounds like you got the tank yesterday, filled it up, and discover that it has got panels loose on 2 sides, after a flood?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sound like your fish are already in danger as the tank can not be cycled!
How big is the tank? Is it on a stand/ table ?
Silicone need to be evenly spread between the 2 very clean lengths where the glass meet, with no bubbles in it and a even thin bead in the corners. I strongly suggest that you leave it for 24 hours before putting stress on the joints, by filling it with water!
Give us more info, so we can help you!
    Gert.

I agree with Gert. Take the tank back... The fish too if you can, get a replacement tank, but leave the fish. Then come back to us and let us help you from the beginning.

if it is a second hand tank and you do continue to fix it yourself, I just want to add that its better to fill the tank a little at a time and wait awhile before you continue. That way there will be less of a mess if something do go wrong and it will be easier to spot a leak.

I feel your pain my old 400liter got a leak, lost a baby Oscar in the process. Found that it cost to much to get fixed and I lack the skill to do it so opted to get a new one built.

I re-silconed one of my tanks. You have to make sure that all the old silicone is removed properly and the glass is clean and free of solvents. It is very timely when you start to cut all the old silicone off and clean the glass. Take it to someone who knows what to do. And have to agree with Zoom and Gert. Set your tank up and let it cycle before putting the fish back in.

Well you will have to clean off all the old silicone, which might force you take the tank apart and then do it properly but if you have the time and patience give it a go a get some experience doing it yourself , but if time is a problem take it to someone that knows how.

I had to do it before, except for the mess of cleaning up all the fishy water and lossing some fish, I enjoyed the DIY part of it, learnt alot and manage to get it working, was fun for me :).

Thank you all for the help! I applied new silicon - but not trusting the hold. So my solution was finally to get a new tank. What i will do is silicon (as a precaution) the insides and let it rest ful tank for a couple of days.
