In my community tank i have bi colored banjo catfish, sturbi corys (breeding), panda corys, upside down catfish, pangasis, tyre track eel, kuli loachs, half beaks, neon's, guppy's, cherry barbs, columbian tetras, striped and spotted danios, otos, and a plec
Hi & Welcome, hope you enjoy your time here with all of us. You are very brave owning electric catfish. Just a word of warning about your community aquarium though. Your Pangasius, Tyre Track Eel, Pleco and possibly your Upside Down Catfish all get waaaaay too big for this size tank, and your smaller fish will become tasty snacks in no time flat. The Columbian Tetras also get pretty big and get pretty boisterus for a small community tank, so if I were you I would look at possibly re-homing some of the "monster" type fish and going with a nice small fish community tank. Just my 2c worth...
@Skye01 Thanks but I think you read wrong my electric catfish has a tank of 90cm he has his own tank and I do know how big all my other fish get I do my research before I buy fish the upside down cats grow to 10cm as for the pleco its one of the smaller breeds and the tyre track and pangasius are still very small the tetras only reach 7cm and I never said how big the communal tank is or how small the baby tank is.
Hi @pixie330, welcome to TASA. Interesting Catfish. As you can see lots of interest and concern on this forum. We all love the fishies. I am interested in the origin of your catfish. Never seen one in a tank. How do you clean the tank? What do you feed it?
Hi @SloMo.00. and thanks it comes from the Nile river and i clean the tank the same as all tanks with my hand. it eats every thing its one of those fish that will eat and eat and never stop I breed guppy's and if any of them or my other fish die it eats them blood worm and all the usual foods to it has shocked me twice but its still a baby so it feels like a bad case of pins and needles. Its a very fun fish to watch i love oddball fish
Yep, I mis-read, I thought that you said that the community tank was 90cm. How big does your electric cat get? Never seen one before, but I heard that they can give a nasty shock if you startle them, hence my saying that you are brave.
