I'm from Cape Town and sorry for the late introduction. I have been a keen hobyist since back in the day when we had competitions in Cavendish Square. I have started off again some 8yrs ago with the peacock cichlids and have been fortunate to breed varies species.
Its nice belonging to this family guys.

Welcome Spider! Do they still have comps in Cavendish?

Dont think so. I was a member of a club and we would compete at each meeting with a different species of tropical fish. That was the time when the 'Tropiquarium" wholesalers still existed in Melbourne road, upper Woodstock. We as members could get our fish from there when new stocks arrive. There you could get tiger barbs the size of your palm.
Each year end we would compete against other clubs and the venue was at Cavendish.
It would be nice to start something like that again.

I have only eight in my tank but they are only babies still. I think its the 'kapampa' type of fronts.
