Hi there My name is adam from Dbn. I have a 2ft tropical tank with just one blood red parrot fish. I intend getting another one in this coming week. I use river sand as substrate. Amazon swords are plants for now. Rocks and driftwood as decor. Also a clay pot. Cascades hang on filter and heater. 20W lighting. Stand converted from standard frame to cupboard. Canopy standard. Standard air pump. I also have 2 male siamese fighters who are almost 2 years old. Each in their own approx 1,5l bowl. Been working with fish for little over a year. Curious to know what others are doing. To me presentation is important. If your tank doesn't look pleasing and isn't clean, don't keep a tank Thanks my story... ah yes i shop at Northlands in Springfield and Saidy's in City View/Game City. Thanks
OOOH I KNOW SOMEONE IS GONNA HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS THREAD LOL........ADAM WELCOME TO TASA DUDE please just go read the rules...you are not to mention the names of any pet shops unless they are affiliated with this site...anyhow welcome....
Hey and welcome This shouldn't be a problem. He only shared with us where he shops. He did not advertise.
Ditto Above. Adam there is some members, who have not replied to your post as yet, whose "rantings" can be mostly ignored
Thanks people Thanks everyone... it's good to be here! I was looking for a forum for the past year  Sorry about the pet shop names... It wasn't intended as advertising... Vis... Sorry dude... I meant 1.5l per fish but just confirmed with my wife, it's over 2.5litres per betta splenden. I'm known by family as a person whose estimates are way off.. My apologies.
Yes Adam,Please get a bigger tank with a decent filter (No Bowls Allowed) for the Bettas. They sure will enjoy it and be in a better all round condition than being kept in a bowl. (How would you like to be locked up in a 2 x 2 meter room?:bigsmile
lol i wouldn't mind putting them in my 2ft tank but they wont stay with the blood red parrot. i'm also concerned that they wont be able to live in the same tank. I wouldn't mind keeping another tank but if they're going to kill each other then that will be cruelty. My heart wants to put them in the 2ft but i dont want to take a chance.
I used to have a 2foot tank that i splitted up in the middle permanently with glass.I left open about 3mm for waterflow, used 2 small internal powerfilters so as not to disturb the watersurface too much.I then splitted each side with a sliding perspex to keep the male and female separate and added floating plants to the setup.
Adam if your ampt i have a small ..i think its one of them 45cm x 35cm x 35 cm with one tiny chip in the corner ..nothing a small amount of silicone wont sort out ..your welcome to it if you like pm me we can get it sorted if your keen...
thanks shaun... I cant send a PM yet until my post count reaches 10. This is my 5th one... anyhow... where are you? lets see what we can do thanks again!
Welcome Eb.adam. Um... why has no-one asked for pics yet... are we all forgetting the value of pics... or are you guys all getting your pictures-fixes from another source... ANYWAY... Adam, we'd love to see some pictures... I would also recommend you keep your eye open on the site for some cheap bargains. Every now and then some people give away good tanks... even 2 small 1 foots will be 100 times better for those betta's than a fishbowl. There's a reason why half the world has banned the use of fishbowls!
